Classes generally take place Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm and comprise approximately 30-32 hours per week. Attendance is mandatory.
The assessment exam is taken at the end of the course and consists of written and oral examinations in the respective subjects.

Application Process
- University Application:
- Apply via uni-assist for a degree program at exactly one of the universities associated with the FU Berlin Studienkolleg (FU Berlin, HU Berlin, Charité)
- Deadline: June 15 for the following winter semester
- Entrance Exam:
- Invitation after pre-selection
- German test (written, 30 minutes) and subject test (depending on course type)
- Date: August (before semester start)

Required Application Documents
For the application via uni-assist, you need the following documents:
- Online application for admission
- Proof of German language skills (at least B2)
- Educational certificates (school-leaving certificate from your home country; if applicable, university entrance exam certificate from your home country; if applicable, proof of previous studies and grading system for studies outside Germany)
- Passport
- Certified translations of all relevant documents not originally in German
- Proof of payment for the uni-assist processing fee
- Applicants from China, Vietnam, and India: APS certificate
Entrance Exam
The Studienkolleg entrance exam consists of a written German test (30 minutes) and a subject-specific test. The German test assesses your language skills through a cloze test. The subject test varies depending on the desired course type:
- G-Course: Diagram analysis (30 minutes)
- M-, T-, W-Courses: Mathematics (45 minutes)

The entrance exam can be repeated once if not passed.
Important notes:
- If you wish to begin studies in the summer semester, you can only take the assessment exam as an external candidate. You can apply for this until January 15. In this case, you must prepare for the assessment exam independently.
